Free AI follow-up email generator
Updated
Most replies come after a follow-up, not the first message. The best follow-ups are short and make it easy to say yes or no.
AI can get things wrong, so read and edit before you send. Do not enter passwords, personal data or confidential details. What you type is sent to Inboxili and to an AI provider to write the result, and is not stored by Inboxili. Free use is limited per visitor.
Principles for follow-ups
- Reference the earlier message so the reader does not have to search for it.
- Make one ask. A question that can be answered in a word.
- Give an easy exit. "If now is not the right time, just let me know" lowers the pressure and often gets a reply.
- Add something new if you can, such as a relevant detail. Repeating the first message adds nothing.
- Do not guilt. Phrases like "I haven't heard back" make people defensive.
Sending at scale
One-to-one follow-ups are personal email. If you send follow-ups to many contacts, use a campaign or an automation to a consented list, and respect opt-outs.
Frequently asked questions
- How long should I wait before following up?
- Two to five working days is common for a first follow-up. Wait longer for busy senior contacts, and keep the number of follow-ups small.
- How many follow-ups are too many?
- Two or three is usually the limit. After that, stop or change the channel.
